Archaeological monitoring was undertaken at the site of a proposed development at Grace Park Road, Drumcondra, Co. Dublin. All development works including demolition of existing buildings, grubbing out of the foundations, breaking and removal of floor slabs, hard surfaces, and ground levelling were archaeologically
monitored. Subsequently, the excavation of the foundation trenches for the new building was also archaeologically monitored. These trenches extended to a depth of 0.8m. A rubble and gravel layer extended to a depth of 0.18–0.2m below which the subsoil was exposed. This comprised a compact mid brown clay with frequent sub-angular stone and was exposed across the site.
The investigation failed to identify any archaeological finds, features, structures, or deposits across the site.
