Pre-development testing as part of an Assessment was carried out in advance of the construction of a Car Sales showroom at Airside, Swords, Co. Dublin.
Five trenches were excavated, totalling 595 linear metres of trenches. It was difficult to establish natural, there was apparently backfill on the site, similar to the previous investigations carried out by the writer on adjacent sites, under licences 21E0625 and 22E0018. There has been a lot of recent construction in the area - a road and roundabout on the northern edge of the site, and a housing estate to the east.
Trench 4 went to a depth of 0.65m. There were several deposits of modern building rubble.
No material of an archaeological nature, finds or features, was observed during the testing .
