Archaeological test trenching was carried out on a site at Corrstown, Killsallaghan, Co. Dublin. The proposed development is located just outside of the Zone of Notification for Freedagh Motte, DU011-020, which lies c. 100m to the southeast. A total of 6 trenches were excavated across the footprint of the proposed development. The test trenches were excavated down to a natural subsoil that varied from mottled orange boulder clay to brownish gravelly sandy clay with pockets of sand. The topsoil varied from a brownish-grey silty clay to an orangish-brown silty clay with very occasional sherds of white ceramic inclusions.

The Archaeological Assessment of the site is now complete. The investigation failed to identify any archaeological features, structures or deposits across the site and no finds were recovered. No further archaeological work is recommended.
