Archaeological test trenching was carried out on a site at Jordanstown, Oldtown, Co. Dublin. A total of 5 trenches were excavated across the footprint of the proposed development. The test trenches were excavated down to a natural subsoil that comprised of a brownish-orange clay. The topsoil was recently under crop and consisted of a brownish-grey silty clay that did not contain any man-made inclusions. The archaeological assessment of the site is now complete. The investigation failed to identify any archaeological features, structures or deposits across the site and no finds were recovered. No further archaeological work is recommended.
