Archaeological testing was carried out over the course of three days from 18 to 20 January 2023. The assessment followed on from a geophysical survey which was carried out in January 2023. The test trenches targeted geophysical anomalies and open green space to fully investigate the archaeological potential of the site.
Geophysical survey and test trenching have identified the remains of a previously unknown sub-circular enclosure site (measuring c. 31m by 28m), designated as AA1 within the southern field.
An isolated pit was identified in the western portion of the southern field, c. 100m west of the enclosure, designated as AA2.
