The archaeological watching brief was undertaken between 23 October – 7 November 2023 at lands immediately west of Ardara Grove, Comber, County Down.
Forty-six test trenches were excavated to the natural glacial subsoil. Archaeological features were identified in two test trenches.
These features were subsequently further explored and identified as an Iron Age ring barrow and a large pit. The ring barrow was radiocarbon dated to 92 BC - AD 65.
The pit contained 126 sherds of coarse, prehistoric pottery.
