The development was located at 21 Hall Road, in the townland of Ballylone Little, some 1.5 km northeast of the town of Ballynahinch at NGR J 37723 53612 adjacent to a scheduled monument, the Ballylone Little Rath, DOW022:031. The development consisted of the construction of two small rectangular extensions to a 1930's dwelling, as well as the provision of all associated services and ground works.

While HED (Historic Monuments) were content that the scheme would not impact upon the Scheduled Monument, they had concerns regarding the potential for below ground archaeological remains associated with the rath to be uncovered during the course of construction works for this scheme. Consequently, they required archaeological mitigation ahead of site works.
The foundation trenches associated with the two extensions were machine excavated in June 2023. The only feature of note uncovered were the remains of a stone and concrete-built well, dug in the 1930s and closed up in the 1950s.
