A programme of archaeological monitoring was carried during the excavation of GI test pits associated with the Donegal Bundle 2 Flood Relief Scheme at Ballybofey, County Donegal. The aim of the programme was to identify the existence, location, significance and extent of any features, finds, deposits, structures or buildings of archaeological consequence located within the GI test pits. Test pits TP1 and TP2 were not excavated due to ground conditions and other constraints. Test pits TP3, TP4, TP5 and TP6 were excavated under archaeological supervision on 18 January 2023. No finds, features or deposits of archaeological significance were encountered during these works.
