Archaeological monitoring was undertaken as an extension to licence 22E0324. Monitoring of topsoil stripping across the entire development area was undertaken on 5 August 2023. Topsoil stripping was completed with the use of a mechanical excavator, under archaeological observation. The sod cover was first removed, following this the area was stripped of the silty clay topsoil (maximum depth of 0.3m) to the orange natural boulder clay substrate below. The areas stripped of topsoil included the access road and new driveway, the footprint of the house, and front/rear parking. During the programme of archaeological monitoring a flint tool was found in the topsoil. The orange/honey-coloured flint appears to be a thumbnail scraper of Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date. No other material of an archaeological nature was observed during monitoring.
