Archaeological monitoring was undertaken at the site of a permitted extension of an existing dwelling, consisting of topsoil removal within all areas involving ground reduction.
The monitoring showed slight disturbances on the side of the slope within the south-western extension and extensive ground disturbances at the bottom of the slope, within the south-eastern extension area. These disturbances were likely associated with the construction of the existing dwelling and the later use of the same, including former land drain, water pipes, large area of cut and fill and gardening activity (possible compost pit or flowerbeds). No archaeological features or artefacts were identified during the monitoring process.
