The excavation of Shannonpark 5 revealed that one phase of activity took place on this site. Radiocarbon dating will determine whether it was contemporary with activity at Shannonpark 3, which lies 90m to the southeast.
Environmental assessment suggests that pit C006 may date to the prehistoric period, based on the presence of probable naked barley and emmer wheat. The small quantities of material recovered from both samples suggest that little further information could be gained beyond assessment, therefore no samples are recommended for further analysis.
