A program of Archaeological Test Trenching of a proposed development site in Dromdihy, Killeagh, Co. Cork was conducted in 2023 with a total of 19 trenches excavated. During test trenching one archaeological feature, F1, a possible medieval charcoal-making pit was uncovered in targeted Trench 8. The circular pit measured 0.78m in length, 0.77m in width and 0.33m in depth. A single piece of slag was recovered from the top of the pit feature. No other features were identified.
