Sixty test trenches were excavated across the site following a geophysical survey and in advance of the proposed extension to a sand and gravel quarry. An isolated deposit of charcoal-rich soil with broken stone was identified as possible ex-situ fulacht fia material close to a stream along the eastern boundary to the site. This was found re-deposited in a small linear feature which was probably related to drainage/land improvement activity. The deposit was 7.6m long (north-north-east/south-south-west), 0.75m wide and reached a depth of 0.12m petering out at both ends. No evidence of an associated burnt spread or fulacht fia was identified in nearby trenches but such a feature may be located outside the landholding to the east, on the eastern bank of the stream.

No other features or finds of archaeological significance were identified.
