Archaeological excavation of a small deposit of cremated bone, which was identified during testing, was carried out in advance of construction of a residential development. The deposit measured 0.25m east-west by 0.2m and was at maximum 0.05m deep. The entire deposit was retained for analysis.
Archaeological monitoring of topsoil stripping for the development was carried out. No features associated with the cremation or other features or finds of archaeological significance were identified. Further topsoil stripping will be carried out as development progresses.
