Ten trenches were excavated across the site in advance of a proposed residential development and following geophysical survey. Seven features of archaeological significance were identified in three trenches at the northern end of the proposed development site. Limited hand investigation of them suggested the presence of six probable prehistoric pits up to 1m diameter and a larger spread. Approximately 80m to the south an eighth features was identified. This was another possible pit but was a shallow feature and may be modern in date relating to a now removed field boundary. No finds were recovered.

Archaeological excavation of the features will be carried out if development proceeds.
