Eleven linear test trenches with a combined length of 315m were excavated across a proposed development site. Natural subsoil was identified at a depth of between 0.15m and 1.4m below modern surface level. Evidence of agricultural activity and land drainage was revealed in some of the excavated trenches but nothing of archaeological significance was encountered during the testing programme.
