Test trenching was carried out on the site of a proposed housing development at Toormore, Ruan, Co. Clare. The landowner reported that the field had been mechanically converted from craggy pasture to level pasture in living memory. This clearance was evident in the broken limestone bedrock observed in the eight test trenches excavated across the site. No archaeological features, deposits or artefacts were observed.
