Pre-development archaeological test trenching was carried out at the site of a proposed new visitors centre and car park at the site of Shannon Pot, Derrylahan, Co. Cavan.
Test trenching revealed that that the underlying soil conditions comprised of a mixture of peaty and clayey topsoil which directly overlay a natural boulder clay/glacial till.
No archaeological deposits or features were uncovered during the test trenching.
