Archaeological test trenching was carried out between 18 and 26 July 2023. Forty-three test trenches were proposed within the Programme of Works, however only thirty-eight of these were fully excavated to the natural glacial subsoil. Test Trenches 14, 31 and 34 were not excavated due to the presence of live underground services, whilst Trenches 27 and 38 were only partially excavated for the same reason.
Test trenching uncovered no remains of archaeological significance. The entire development area was found to have been disturbed during landscaping and the laying of utilities (electrical, water and sewage) associated with the dwellings that once occupied the site.
