The site at Killincarrig, Greystones, Co. Wicklow, was archaeologically assessed. The assessment involved the excavation of three test trenches within the footprint of the proposed dwelling house, the proposed driveway and to the east of the site closest to adjacent monument (WI013-005), classified as a 16th/17th-century house.
Trench 1 measured 1m in width, Trenches 2-3 measured 1.8m in width, and in total 35m of linear trenches were excavated. The test trenches were excavated to the natural subsoil, which consisted of an orange boulder clay. No archaeological features or deposits were identified within the excavated trenches. Consequently, no further archaeological work is recommended at this site.
