Archaeological testing was carried out in advance of the development of a monopole in the townland of Deerpark, Ballynacarrigy, Co. Westmeath. A geophysical survey carried out over the location of the development (Licence ref: 22R0204) revealed no features or trends that might be of archaeological origin.
In total, three test trenches were excavated. The natural subsoil was comprised of mid-brown boulder clay with frequent pebbles overlying weathered bedrock (limestone). No features, finds or deposits of archaeological significance were identified during the course of testing.
