Archaeological testing was carried out on 9 May 2022. A recorded monument, ringfort-rath (TN025-056) is located c. 50m north of the development area.
A total of two trenches were mechanically investigated across the test area which measured 100 linear meters in total. The trenches targeted open green space to fully investigate the archaeological potential of the site.
Testing revealed nothing of archaeological significance. The development area lay outside of the zone of notification for recorded monument (TN025-056) and the monument will not be impacted by the development. The site is considered to possess very low archaeological potential, and no negative impacts are predicted upon the archaeological resource.
