The archaeological potential of the erroneously located site of RMP TN041-035 was assessed via the excavation of three test trenches across the zone of constraint surrounding the locus point for that monument. No subsurface archaeological features, deposits, finds or remains were identified in the three excavated trenches, nor were there any materials or artefacts observed or recovered which would suggest the existence of the same at this location.
It is the opinion of the author that following the licenced archaeological investigative work carried out by Moran in 1996 under licence ref. 96E0278 the delisting of TN041-035 from the SMR and the RMP should have occurred, something which would have prevented the erroneous listing/location on the currently available sources.
