VESI Environmental Ltd (specialists in integrated constructed wetlands, wetland landscaping and Ecological & aquatic assessments) engaged Aisling Collins Archaeology Services (ACAS) to carry out an Underwater Archaeological Impact Assessment (UAIA) on a section of the Ara River. This UAIA was completed and submitted in 2020. The UAIA recommended archaeological monitoring for all ground disturbances and metal detecting of any spoil removed from the riverbed.
All ground disturbances were archaeologically monitored. All features were recorded, photographs and confirmed as modern. No archaeological features were identified.
