An archaeological test excavation was carried out in Lisnagrough, Holy Cross as part of an archaeological impact assessment that was requested by Tipperary Council prior to a consideration of a grant of planning. The proposed development is for a single dwelling house and the site is located within the close environs of two archaeological monuments, a levelled ringfort (TN046-008) and an enclosure (TN046-009). Five test trenches were excavated to the surface of the natural ground in the lands proposed for development and no features or finds of archaeological significance were exposed.
