Archaeological monitoring was carried out in November 2022 at the Cresent, Termon, in the town centre of Boyle, Co. Roscommon. The works entailed the carrying out of internal and external alterations to 2 existing dwellings, consisting of one 2-storey dwelling and one 2 and a half-storey dwelling, together with all ancillary site works and services. The proposed works are within the zone of archaeological notification of RMP RO006-068--- Historic Town.
Over the course of two days the overburden of soil and demolition material from the yard to the rear of the two properties was mechanically removed under archaeological supervision. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were noted during the monitoring.
