2022:817 - LACKAGH MORE, Offaly

The erection of site boundary fencing, and the establishment of a buffer around  OF006-032001 (Castle) and OF006-032003 (Bawn), were carried out under archaeological supervision at Lackagh More, Co. Offaly, on 3 October 2022. No excavation was necessary as the fencing posts were inserted using a post-driver, and the small posts demarcating the archaeological buffer were inserted by hand. The works took place in advance of a proposed dwelling house development, and follow on from previous geophysical survey and test excavation at this site in 2021 (2021:461). The archaeological buffer shall remain in place for the duration of the proposed development. No development works, tracking of machinery or storage of materials are permitted within the buffer.
