Archaeological monitoring was carried out between 23 November 2021 and 23 May 2022 for groundworks (consisting of two trial holes and two open-cut trenches) within two areas of archaeological potential (AAP 1 and AAP2) for the Newbliss Water Mains Scheme in Co. Monaghan.
The scheme was situated in and to the north of Newbliss village and comprised the installation of 3,219m of new/replacement water mains along the existing road network (the R183 and L21521).
No potential archaeological objects, features, or deposits were noted during the archaeological monitoring.
