A programme of archaeological monitoring was carried out on a site off Metges Road, Navan in Bailis townland. The site was previously occupied by the Athlumney Centre, which was constructed in the early 2000s.
The monitoring programme confirmed that the site had been fully stripped prior to the previous development. A bedrock outcrop was identified below the modern hardcore to the south and west. Boulder clay was identified to the east and north. Numerous service trenches relating to the previous building on the site were uncovered. No archaeology was identified.
