Foundations for a small rear extension were dug without archaeological supervision, however, the client sought assistance once this was realized. The site was visited the following day and it appeared to not have impacted upon archaeological remains. The site is close to a Franciscan friary (LH007-119021-) and the burials (30m away) found by Meenan (LH007-119034-). On NMS advice, an archaeological impact assessment was conducted which will be submitted in lieu of a monitoring report to the planning file. Natural was a sandy, pebbly gravel at c. 0.3m depth. One feature appeared to be a drainage channel (undated) and the other was associated with the construction of the house (1840-1888).
