Test trenching was carried out at Hardy’s Lane, Marshes Upper, Dundalk on 28th of April 2022.
Three east-west test trenches totalling 192 linear metres were excavated by machine in the northern part of the site. Subsoil was exposed at depths varying between 0.2m and 0.4m. Modern refuse and metal bars were also noted within the trenches. No features or finds of an archaeological nature were encountered and consequently no further work was recommended.
