A test trench assessment was carried out over the course of two days from 14 December 2022. Three trenches were excavated in an area currently in use as a yard. A proposed trench in the garden area to the west could not be excavated due to the presence of an irrigation system.
Testing revealed the partial remains of post-medieval building foundations as marked on the first edition OS map and the later 1909 OS map, where the structures had been rebuilt on slightly differing footprints. The remains of the post-medieval buildings were subject to more recent disturbance in the form of rubbish pits and later walls. No features predating the post-medieval period were identified during the course of testing.
