Through the course of this phase of archaeological monitoring at Raheenagun and Loughmacask, Co. Kilkenny, it was revealed that the site has been previously impacted by agricultural activities, including the insertion of drains and other land management techniques spanning multiple periods of history. Aside from the areas of previous disturbance, the limited areas of exposed sub-surface showed no evidence of archaeological features.
Due to the lack of observation of any finds or features of archaeological significance across the area surveyed, there are no further mitigation measures deemed necessary for the areas under this phase of development. However, further courses of monitoring will be required as subsequent phases of work commence.
