Archaeological monitoring was carried out of the foundation slit trenches for an extension to the modern primary school. The development was located c.60m south-west of the line of the medieval city wall. A wall trench and services of the upstanding school building, along with 19th-century garden soils, were encountered across the development site. Nothing of archaeological significance was revealed and no further archaeological mitigation was recommended.
