Archaeological monitoring was carried out from 12 May 2022 at 19 Hillcrest, Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare. The site is located in the north-eastern corner of the town of Ballymore Eustace and within its Zone of Archaeological Potential (KD029-011001).
The natural subsoil consisted of a light brown, compacted sand with a high density of glacially-rolled stones. An ovoid-shaped refuse pit approximately 4m x 3m, 300mm deep, and black with silt and organic material was identified during the monitoring. Bottles were evident throughout, most appearing to date to the 1950s. No additional features, finds or deposits of archaeological interest were identified.
