Licensed archaeological testing at The Grove, Dingle, Co Kerry was undertaken in May 2022. The proposed development site is located within the zone of notification of the historic town of Dingle, KE043-224.
A total of six test trenches (T1-T6) with a total meterage of c.140m were opened in available areas of the site. All trenches contained large amounts of introduced debris and builders’ material (up to 1m thick in places). Nothing of archaeological interest was noted and no artefacts were recovered during the testing.
