The archaeological monitoring of excavations revealed no features and/or finds of archaeological significance. The stratigraphy encountered revealed the bedrock below the sod and topsoil (depth 0.2m) in the south of the site. The bedrock sloped down northwards and it would appear that a rubble fill located in the north of the site was used to level the ground surface in the creation of the garden in the 19th century. The stratigraphy encountered during the monitoring consisted of fill and garden soil overlying the natural bedrock and gravel clay.
