Monitoring of groundworks associated with the construction of a power plant development at Grange Castle, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 took place intermittently throughout December 2022. Evidence from aerial photography indicated that the development site had been heavily disturbed in the past, which was confirmed during the archaeological monitoring programme. Subsoil across the development site was recorded as a mid-orange-brown to grey clay. Bedrock was encountered at a depth of between 1.5m and 2m below the subsoil surface. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded during monitoring.
