Archaeological monitoring of intermittent topsoil stripping was undertaken on various dates between 6 September 2021 and 19 January 2022. Monitoring of the demolition of the 19th-century vernacular building in the former farmyard took place on 11 November 2021.
Topsoil stripping initially focused on the network of roads across the site, before progressing to the footprints of the various buildings. Topsoil varied in depth from 0.3m to 0.5m and sealed natural subsoil that generally comprised of orange brown silty clay.
Nothing of archaeological significance was identified during the topsoil stripping.
