Archaeological testing was carried out in advance of a permitted development site on the outskirts of Naul on 30 May 2022. The site comprises a single fallow field; it slopes very gently to the north. It is disturbed and rough underfoot, having been used as a construction compound in the past.
Six test trenches were opened across the field and no features of an archaeological nature were identified in any of the trenches. The testing confirmed that the field was quite disturbed and used as a compound area for a neighbouring development.
