Monitoring of groundworks at the development site began on January 31, 2022 and continued intermittently until the 16 August, 2022.
Monitoring of groundworks consisted of the excavation of three trial pits, geological test trenches, topsoil stripping and grading within the footprint of the development. These works revealed a shallow stratigraphic sequence, with previous disturbance to subsurface layers observed across the entire development footprint.
No archaeological finds or features were discovered during this phase of works; therefore, no further mitigation measures were deemed necessary.
