Archaeological test trenching was carried out at Kingstown, St. Margaret’s, Co. Dublin. The nearest monument to the site is ring-ditch DU011-126----, located c. 0.61km to the northwest.
The site was archaeologically assessed in December 2022 by test trenching. The assessment involved the excavation of six test trenches, each measuring 1.8m in width, with a total of 1,552m of linear trenches excavated to a depth of between 0.36m and 0.6m. The test trenches were excavated down to the natural subsoil, which comprised an orange-grey sandy clay. No archaeological features or deposits were identified within the excavated trenches, and no artefacts were recovered.
