Archaeological monitoring was undertaken at a site at Grange Road, Stapolin, Baldoyle, Dublin 13. Monitoring followed previous desktop assessment undertaken at the site which comprises 0.8 hectare of brown field site.
It was undertaken over a three days, 20.06.22, 28.06.22 and 30.06.22. Topsoil was not present on the site. The removed layers predominantly consisted of rough crushed stone hardcore containing some concrete and tarmac rubble. The stripped material reached up to 600mm of depth in places. It appears that the site was previously heavily disturbed and resurfaced.
No sites, features or objects of archaeological significance were recorded and no further archaeological works are required.
