Archaeological testing was undertaken on the site on 14 June 2022. This involved the excavation of 3  linear test trenches, measuring a total length of 135m by a 360˚ mechanical excavator, fitted with a 1.8m wide toothless grading bucket. Nothing archaeological was identified in any of the trenches or in a scan of the excavated spoil.
