The works comprised archaeological monitoring during site investigation (SI) works associated with the Rising Main Upgrade from Fahan Pumping Station to Buncrana Wastewater Treatment Plant, Buncrana, County Donegal. The archaeological works included the archaeological monitoring of the excavation of SI slit trench ST6-4-018, which was situated within the Zone of Notification associated with Flat Cemetery (DG038-009----) at Figary, Fahan. SI slit trench ST6-4-018 measured 6m in length north-east/south-west, 0.6m in width and up to 1.8m in depth (at the south-west end). The trench excavation ceased at the level of a buried watermain and disused manhole and did not reach the natural geology. Nothing archaeological was identified.
