Three test trenches, totalling 215m in length, were excavated across the available areas of a proposed development site. Testing revealed the site to be mostly undisturbed fallow land with several modern drains and agriculture linear features cut into the subsoil. A previously unrecorded mill race measuring c.4m wide, c.3.2m deep was noted running in an east to west direction through the centre of the site.
