Archaeological testing was undertaken at the site of a proposed private dwelling development in the townland of Killowen, Blarney, Cork. Six archaeological test trenches, totalling 330m in length, were excavated across the footprint of the proposed development, including the route of a proposed new access road which extends across the northern portion of the Zone of Notification associated with the recorded location of a church site (CO062-126----). Nothing of an archaeological nature was revealed during the testing programme. Furthermore, apart from a local tradition, there is no evidence, whether physical, documentary, or cartographic, that a church was in fact once sited at the recorded location.
