Test trenching was carried out of a 0.9ha proposed housing development site located east of a local road in a rural area approximately 3km south of Lehinch (or Lahinch) town. Moy National School lies to the immediate west of the proposal site on the opposite side of the road. Ten trenches were excavated. Topsoil directly overlies natural subsoil across the site and there is no evidence of any archaeological activity in the vicinity, other than the presence of ringfort CL023-031 in the neighbouring field.
