An archaeological test excavation was carried out at a residential development located at ‘Friars Green’, Carlow Town. A Request for Further Information was issued by Carlow County Council for an archaeological test excavation. It was noted that the development site is not located within or close to the zone of archaeological potential of any known or suspected recorded monument.

The test excavation was carried out during December, 2022. No features or finds of archaeological significance were found.
