An archaeological watching brief was undertaken from 17-19 October 2022. ARM009:022 is marked in the same locale as a medieval & post-medieval church and graveyard. Test trenching across the proposed development area uncovered material likely related to the archaeology excavated and recorded in 2018.
This included five pits, on average 0.9m by 0.8m and 0.15m deep, three shallow linear ditches around 1m in width and 0.3m in depth, and a large ditch at around 6m wide and 1.5m deep. The large ditch was filled by two deposits: a grey silty clay (upper) and a dark black peat containing organics (basal).
